This project is in the top 5 funniest projects I’ve ever done. The freedom of creating you’re own video is really cool. The whole brainstorming process was really funny with my group because we had a bunch of good ideas, but they were all literally impossible to film/do. My group and I always knew that we wanted our video to do something with our cars, but we genuinely had no idea what to film, how to film correctly, and if it would even work out in the end.
After I completed the storyboard at home when I was sick, I Facetimed my group and we got to the conclusion that the storyline was good and it was ready for filming. After a few days of normal procrastination, we began filming after school. I took the storyboard with me and my girlfriend helped us film the shots that we could not film because of our participation in the video. After 3 hours of laughter, we finished filming and parted ways.
After I got home I spent an hour trying to figure out how to do split screen on Adobe Premiere. I finished that and I finally began editing. The only annoying part about the whole editing process was downloading the individual clips and putting them in order. That took about an hour. After I completed that, I added a few transitions and made it look neat, and added the MP3-downloaded version of the song.
I exported the project to Youtube so it doesn’t lose quality, and it came out a little mediocre.
After talking with my group, Luis decided to try and edit it on an app on his phone. It came out better on his phone than it did when I edited the clips on Adobe Premiere, so we used his video. On the day that the project was due, we decided to sharpen a few of the clips and it ended up working out. On the days that we had time in class to work on the project, we all worked on the PowerPoint and searched for ideas on how to distribute the video.
I believe that this project was a sneak peek of what college life will be. You make your own schedule and choices and learn what works and what doesn’t in order to make the best project/assignment possible.
